1. What’s your story? Where are you from?

Hello, I'm Jihyo Park. I was born in the countryside of Korea called Paju and now I live in a city called Namyangju. I majored in Industrial design and worked as a children's art instructor for a year. Currently, I am working as a freelancer. And I draw flowers, nature, and lovely animal illustrations.

2. Tell us about your aesthetic.

I love to decorate and express aesthetically.And I mainly paint flowers and animals with a lovely feeling. When I see nature, I feel comfortable and happy. I think those feelings seem to be contained in my work. I don't put any restrictions on color but i mainly use warm colors and paint so that texture is felt.

3. What is your favourite medium and why?

My favourite medium right now is the iPad pro. It comes with a variety of brushes so I can use drawing pencils, colored pencils and paints. And I can easily draw anytime, anywhere.

4. What is your artistic process like?

I take pictures of plants and animals myself, and draw them in my own style while looking at these photos.

5. Who and/or what inspires your work? 

I am inspired by nature. The happiness of seeing cute animals and pretty flowers are expressed in pictures. I want to share it with many people.

6. What role does art play in your life? How does it change the way you view the world?

My drawing makes me feel alive. So I can love myself more. I have a lot of affection for everything around me. And I feel grateful for the little things.

7. Where did you study?

I studied Product Design and Content Design at the Department of Industrial Design at Gyeonggi University.

8. Where do you see yourself in five years?

Five years later, I will be an illustrator/designer who channels good influence through painting.

10. What do you hope to achieve with your art?

I want to live a sustainable life by painting. Personally, it is just myself drawing my favorite pictures every day and making money with them. Socially, I want to do things that benefit people and the environment.

11. Now, tell us a little more about you as a person: what is your favourite food?

I love the sweet and spicy Korean food called 'Tteokbokki'.

12. Favourite book?

[How to Stop Worrying and Start Living - Dale Carnegie] -I usually have a lot of thoughts, so my worries tend to mess up my head. After reading this book, I learnt how to stop worrying about the past and tomorrow.

13. Favourite genre of music? 

I like every artist's song and independent music! I adore singers who artistically express their own colors in songs.

I love to take pictures. And sometimes, looking at them, I get lost in the memories.
