1. What's your story? Where are you from?

I'm from Osaka, Japan. Ever since I was a child, I had a strong passion for drawing and creating. Currently, I work as a freelance illustrator which has been my dream job. 大阪出身です。子供の頃から絵をかいたり何かを作ったりすることが大好きでした。現在はずっと夢だったイラストレーターとして活動しています。

2. Tell us about your aesthetic.

I always try to make illustrations that are something more than just visual information. If someone feels brightened by my artworks even a little bit, it's my greatest pleasure. 常に制作するイラストには単なる視覚情報以上のものを持たせられないかと考えています。もし誰かが私の作品で楽しい気持ちになってくれたなら、それ以上のことはありません。

3. What is your favourite medium and why?

Most of my current artworks are digital. Nowadays, digital illustrations are very common, but I believe it still has many potentials. 現在の私の作品はほとんどデジタルです。今やデジタル作品は決して珍しい時代ではないですが、それでもまだこれから多くの可能性があると思っています。

4. What is your artistic process like?

It starts with making multiple small rough sketches on paper to find the most comfortable lines and balance. After that, I decide on the colors and details as searching reference materials. まずは小さないくつものラフを紙に描いて、一番しっくりくる線やバランスを探ります。そこから色や細かい箇所を資料を検索しつつ決めていきます。

5. Who and/or what inspires your work?

I get inspired by my daily life, books, pictures, and movies. 日常生活、本、画像、映画です。

6. What role does art play in your life? How does it change the way you view the world?

It's a part of my life and identity. I've been drawing since I was very young. Whenever I was happy or depressed, it made me calm and involved. 私の人生の一部で、アイデンティティです。幼いころからずっと絵を描いてきました。楽しい時も悲しい時も、絵を描くことで気分が落ち着いて、夢中になることが出来ました。

7. Where did you study?

I studied graphic design at university. The experiences in the university have helped me to deal with design as an illustrator. 大学でグラフィックデザインを学びました。その時の経験はイラストレーターとしてデザインに関わる上で役立っています。

8. Where do you see yourself in five years?

I hope I'm still enjoying my work, and keep challenging new things to expand my activities. その頃にも楽しんで仕事が出来ているといいなと思います。また、新しいことに挑戦し続けて活動の幅を広げていたいです。

9. What about in ten?

It's the same as #8, my priority is being happy and enjoying my work. Besides that, if I have enough experiences, I would like to offer information to help young artists. 前の質問と同じく、一番の優先順位は楽しく仕事ができているということです。それに加えて、もし私に十分な経験があれば、若手のアーティスト達にとって役立つ情報を発信したいです。

10. What do you hope to achieve with your art?

I hope my artworks help somebody to find joy and peace in their heart. 誰かが私の作品で楽しく穏やかな気持ちになれたらと思っています。

11. Now, tell us a little more about you as a person: what is your favourite food?

I'm a huge food enthusiast. Any kind of food makes me happy, but chocolate is something else! めちゃくちゃ食いしん坊なので、なんでも大好きですが、チョコレートは別格ですね！

12. Favourite book?

I like reading horror stories. ホラーが好きです。

13. Favourite genre of music?

Pop/Classic/Lo-fi/folk

14. What are your hobbies?

Eating, cooking, and wandering around the city. 食べること、料理、散歩。

15. If you weren't an artist, what would you be?

I would be a backpacker, and exploring all around the world! I think I still have a chance! バックパッカーになって世界中を探検！まだチャンスはあると思ってます！
