1. What's your story? Where are you from?

Hi, I'm JiSun Han. I was born in Seoul, Korea. After graduating from college, I enjoy drawing pictures. 저는 대한민국 서울에서 태어났습니다. 대학교 졸업 후 저는 그림을 그리며 지내고 있습니다.

2. Tell us about your aesthetic.

Since I was young, I have been healing with colors. I like colors that are strong and complementary colors. They give off an incredible energy. So my work also uses colorful colors. 저는 어렸을 때 부터 다양한 색깔들로부터 힐링을 했습니다. 강렬하고 보색대비를 이루는 색깔들을 아주 좋아합니다. 각각의 색에 따라 전해오는 이미지를 느끼며 엄청난 에너지를 받습니다. 그래서 작품 또한 다채로운 색깔들을 쓰는 편입니다.

3. What is your favourite medium and why?

Nowadays I use an illustration program. I don't have a tablet so I draw pictures with a computer mouse. So there are lines that are drawn by mistake. Rather than removing them, I prefer that effect. 요즘에 저는 일러스트 프로그램을 이용합니다. 저는 태블릿pc가 없습니다. 그래서 저는 컴퓨터 마우스로 그림을 그립니다. 그래서 실수로 그려지는 선들이 있습니다. 오히려 그런 효과를 더 좋아합니다.

4. What is your artistic process like?

When I usually close my eyes to sleep, inspiration comes up. I draw it on the diary then. When I work on a computer and feel bored or fatigued, I take out my favorite note book and draw graffiti. 주로 잠을 자려고 눈을 감았을때 영감이 떠오릅니다. 그때 다이어리에 그리는 편입니다. 아니면 컴퓨터 작업을 하다가 순간 지루하거나 몸이 지칠때가 있습니다. 그때 저는 좋아하는 노트를 꺼내서 낙서하듯이 그림을 그립니다. 그 낙서중 하나가 작업이 되기도 합니다.

5. Who and/or what inspires your work?

Sometimes I see singers ' music videos through social networks service. And then I take a look at how stage installations, props, lighting, and colors were staged. Also, I learn from other artists ' work. However, I am worried that I am following up on their feelings. But the painting that shakes my mind gives me an opportunity to look back on myself once again. 소셜네트워크를 통해서 가끔 가수들의 뮤직비디오를 볼때가 있습니다. 그때 저는 무대설치나 소품, 조명 그리고 색깔을 어떤식으로 연출했는지 눈여겨 봅니다. 또한 나는 다른 아티스트들의 작품을 보고 배웁니다. 부러워하기도 합니다. 하지만 그들의 느낌을 내가 따라하고 있진 않을까 하고 걱정하기도 합니다. 하지만 내 마음을 흔드는 그림은 보고 또 한번 나 자신을 돌아보게 되는 계기가 됩니다.

6. What role does art play in your life? How does it change the way you view the world?

I think art is my own stage of showing my most honest expression. Nobody says anything on my own stage. All I have to do is enjoy my own stage. 저는 예술이 저를 가장 솔직한 표현으로 보여 주는 나만의 무대라고 생각합니다. 아무도 내 무대에서 아무 말도 하지 않습니다. 내가 해야 할 일은 나만의 무대를 즐기는 것뿐입니다.

7. Where did you study?

I majored in the Christian art department of Mok Won University. 목원대학교 기독교미술학과를 전공했습니다.

8. Where do you see yourself in five years?

Maybe I will be working in an ordinary place and I think will still be painting at home. 아마도 저는 직장에서 평범하게 일하고 있고, 나는 여전히 집에서 그림을 그리고 있을 것이라 생각합니다.

9. What about in ten?

I would like to collaborate with famous brand. If my work is as famous as an entertainer, I will be happy. 내 작품과 유명한 브랜드와 콜라보레이션을 하고 있으면 좋겠습니다. 만약 내 일이 연예인만큼 유명하다면, 나는 행복 할 것 같습니다.

10. What do you hope to achieve with your art?

I hope that my work is not only for my own pleasure but for others to feel a little inspired. 나만의 만족이 아니라 다른 사람들도 내 작품을 통해 작은 에너지를 느꼈으면 좋겠습니다.

11. Now, tell us a little more about you as a person: what is your favourite food?

I like Tteok-bokki(Stir-fried Rice Cake), Sundae(Korean Sausage) and tempura. 저는 떡볶이, 순대, 튀김을 좋아합니다.

12. Favourite book?

I prefer a book with many pictures rather than a book with many letters. I like Webtoons too. 글씨가 많은 책보단 그림이 많은 책을 좋아합니다. 웹툰도 좋아합니다.

13. Favourite genre of music?

I don't listen to music, but I like Jeff Bernat. Especially I like 'If you wonder' 노래도 잘 듣는 편은 아니지만, 제프버넷 좋아합니다.. 특히 if you wonder 좋아합니다.

14. What are your hobbies?

I like games. Also, I like watching movies or animations. ​게임하는걸 좋아합니다. 또한 영화 나 애니메이션 보는걸 좋아합니다.

15. If you weren't an artist, what would you be?

I want to be a stage set designer. I want to make a scene in a three-dimensional space rather than flat surfaces. 저는 무대 설치 디자이너가 되고 싶습니다. 평면보다는 3차원 공간에서 장면을 만들고 싶습니다.
